Marika Bournaki has quickly become one of Canada\u2019s\u00a0brightest young stars. Heralded as a piano prodigy at the age of five, and performing as a soloist with\u00a0world class symphonies at the age of 12, she has won\u00a0the hearts and praise of audiences and critics from\u00a0around the world. Bobbi Jo Hart\u2019s\u00a0I Am Not A Rock\u00a0<\/em>Star<\/em>\u00a0gives us a unique and intimate portrait of this\u00a0young artist. Hart followed Marika over the past eight\u00a0years of her life (from age 12 to 20) providing us a rare\u00a0and revealing glimpse inside an artist\u2019s evolution.\u00a0It\u2019s amazing to watch Marika\u2019s development from a\u00a0young ambitious girl to a forcefully determined (and\u00a0sometimes rebellious) adolescent while witnessing\u00a0her talent grow exponentially in the competitive and\u00a0demanding world of classical music. The new Yamaha C3X Grand\u00a0<\/strong>Piano is \u00a0provided courtesy of the Toronto Piano\u00a0<\/strong>Group and Music Education Centre.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
